ExplainMyLetter is built for people who live abroad and don't speak the local language. You upload an official letter — Polish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Ukrainian, Czech — and we return a plain-language explanation with deadlines and action items. Privacy first: PII is redacted before any AI sees the letter.
Sign up takes about 30 seconds. Packs start at €1.99 for 10 letters — no subscription, credits never expire.

What you can upload
PDF documents
Single or multi-page. We extract text on our server before AI sees the file.
Photos and scans
JPG or PNG. We use Mistral's OCR endpoint (EU, no-training contract) to extract text, then redact PII before the explanation model sees it.
Pasted text
Copy from email, web portal, or PDF reader and paste directly.
Plain text files
.txt files up to 10 MB.
Maximum file size is 10 MB. Most letters are far smaller. If your file exceeds this, compress the PDF or paste the text directly.
Privacy in 30 seconds
EU-hosted AI. We use Mistral, a French AI company. Inference happens in EU data centres.
PII redacted before processing. PESEL, NIP, IBAN, Steuer-ID, email, phone, postal codes — replaced with placeholders before any AI sees the letter. Real values are restored in your view, but the AI never saw them.
No training, no storage of originals.Mistral is contractually prohibited from training on customer data. We don't keep your uploaded files. The AI's output (summary, action items) is encrypted at rest in your account.

Key features
AI-generated titles
Each letter gets a 3-7 word title (e.g. "Property Tax Decision 2026 — Wrocław") so your history is scannable
Plain-language summaries
The legalese stripped out. What it is, why it exists, in 1-2 sentences plus a longer explanation if you want it
Deadline extraction
Dates pulled from the letter and shown next to the action they apply to, with red urgency badges for items due within 7 days
Required-action focus
We list only what the letter explicitly requires you to do — no "you might want to consider" padding
Letter history
All your past explanations stay in your account, encrypted at rest. Delete any individual letter at any time
